Network Marvell kmod for x86

Hi forum.
I think openwrt is a thing of beauty
so I want it in x86 NAS box that I build.
but this is a x86 and with on a onboard

Marvell 88E8059 gigabit nic

But there is no support out of the box for this nic.
Both the generic and and 64bit image has no kmod for this.
I belive there is a ipk* supporting a pile of marvell nic's but no pre-built support for the 88E8059

*kmod-sky2_5.15.167-1_x86_64.ipk

Have you added the sky2 kmod ?

It's not in the default package list.

Have you also tried the 24.10 or vanilla snapshots?

Usually one adds lspci to such claim.

lspci -nn

No sky2 kernel modules shows by lsmod in a default install, I have not tried the kmod-sky2 yet but the 88e8059 is not on the list of support, but I'll try it.
I'll be back..

No surprise if you did not add it to the image..... What is in lspci and ethtool eth0 when you boot the likes of ubuntu or fedora?

kmod-sky2 did after all support the 88E8059 but the module info text did not mention this chipset under supported...

but now i got the next missing module for my Broadcom / LSI SAS2008 controller, but i'll open a new topic for that one. thanks for your help guys.

Well, enterprise storage will not boot. Run a VM on full linux host if you need OpenWRT routing.

Booting on a 4Gb USB stick. Works perfect.
No routing only a low power NAS.
Now I only need a driver module for this LSI SAS2008 Controller.
