Netgear R6850: very low transmit power on 5GHz

I flashed the firmware r16186+15-bf4aa0c6a2 (in the Sercomm subdir) and both radios show 20dBm, so this seems to work well. The kernel log, however, reports that there are now 29 partitons and gives some errors which I do not know the meaning of, such as

[ 2.796887] mt7621-pci 1e140000.pcie: Parsing DT failed ...

Well, I supply the log, if interesting:

Thanks, so it looks like like those patches fix that issue. The DT warning isn't a problem, that's a PCIe driver message all MT7621 devices show (mine as well).

You could build your own image with the adapted offsets hardcoded, or stick with those Sercomm parser patches. It doesn't look like they'll end up in OpenWrt anytime soon unless they're reworked unfortunately.

OK, so there will be no changes in the snapshots when it comes to the eeprom data locations?

I'm afradi not. Like I said, the offsets had already been changed for the R6260 earlier, to what works for your device, and then rolled back again, since for others like @robd3 the 0x0 and 0x8000 offsets work just fine.

OK. Thanks for your help again. I guess I have to set up a build environment in the future.

Happy to help. To answer your question about where you can find the Sercomm parser patches, I linked them in post #18.

DTS patch is here (don't use both, they'll conflict).
