Need help with a Clear Flow BeamPro

Hi all
Ive been given the latest family hand-down (e-waste) to recycle or repair to use.
This time its a BeamPro, It looks like the first version as it doesnt have the switch to select 48v out to power a poe cctv camera.

The problem that is that after holding down the reset button for 30 seconds or so it restarts but the access point is locked, even if I hold reset for a minute it still comes back as locked.

Ive tried maybe 50 passwords to no avail I also plugged it into a spare router to see if i could communicate with 192.168.1.200 as the instructions state but no go.

I tried with and without DHCP to see, with the router assigned ip 192.168.1.64 I still count connect or find any open ports.

The gig link is up when hard wired and the wifi spits out fine, its just locked which is the opposite of what I was expecting.I tried a laptop set in the same ip range etc to try again with the 192.168.1.200 but no joy.

The only that gave me any hope it was actually working in the background is when I used a live usb Linux distro quizzed the device with a package called wash. This dumped various info including "wps_manufacturer - www.lede-project.org" which led me here.

The mac is 50:DE:19:10:C8:48 with an essid of "BeamPro_10C849" the uuid is also in the dumped information.

Be a shame to admit failure and not get it working again, be nice to have a wifi beam working so I can use the internet down the garden.

Can anyone help? Are there people here that worked for Lede before the union?
It also has "antiference" branding in the manual

Many thanks
Mark

Obviously that is not official OpenWrt. As per specs you need a pair of them, single band device somehow does not serve nicely as a home AP, you will need 2 for 2 bands

50:DE:19:10:00:00/28 Clear Flow by Antiference

Will not be easy since you are unable to dig up realistic model number

Looking at the doc (number is important - clearflow 2 / clearflow 5 / clearflow pro v2

Looking at the specs of the basic one
2 2.4ghz ath79 64/16 - https://antiference.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Beam-2-Tech-Spec-CF-E314N-1.pdf
5 5GHz wifi4 ath79 .. - https://antiference.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Beam-5-Tech-Spec-CF-E312A-1.pdf
V2 5GHz wifi5 ath79 128/..- https://antiference.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Beam-Pro-V2-Data-Sheet.pdf

Which one you have?

Hi brada4
Thanks for the quick reply, its none of the above. Its called BeamPro 900mbps Project Outdoor CPE with a qualcomm chipset.
As the bssid is only 1 digit away from the mac address I imagine there is an algorithm at work.

Heres the box
Image deleted, im only allowed 1
And its round like a desert bowl.
Deleted image.
I will cannibalise it for parts and/or just use the antenna portion added into another 5 gig emitter to create a beam.
I really like the functionality and the build quality looks good.

There must be some way of finding the password as I dont think its bricked. The lights repond to the network cable and it tranmits it signal cleanly.
Fingers crossed there is a solution.

Maybe find some wifi pen testing experts to open it.
Great forum by the way and have been a huge fan of openwrt for over a decade.
Thanks again
Mark

Early openwrt inside

Forgot to mention the model is CF-A5

Google: https://en.comfast.com.cn/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=19&id=35
(site is too slow to see specifications)

Almost identical, but with openwrt.
I did find that page and few really old pages on the wayback machine but non of the manuals mention a wifi password.

No idea about wifi password, wired password is printed on the label and comfast has a nice component / disassembly picture in page

Inside I've found uart pins, could I get any further trying to communicate via these? Sill there be any more passwords? Can i flash it with modern OpenWRT?
Ive never tried to uart anything so before I buy a cable is it even possible?

Thanks
Mark

Device is not yet supported but it is based on a well supported pltform.

You need 3.3v usb ttl adapter to communicate to those pins.
Do not connect vcc pin. Just other three.

PS Strange you can not acces device purchased in the box using default psswords on same.

Ive managed to get a little further, if I push the reset button during boot it goes into failsafe, no wifi and no DHCP with a ip of 192.168.1.1. I can ping it and it returns TL64 but other than that still no access. Both telnet and ssh are disabled and still no ports open.

I have a uart ttl adapter overnighting to me so I'll be able to probe with that tomorrow. I do some research on what software to use or the next step.

I uart'd today with great success, I was able to see instructions in the terminal script of how long to hold the reset button to access which functionality.

Its now fully functional and ive changed the ssid and the password aswell as the login details from the original.

Its sweet inside with a really fast responding gui

I might run with this firmware for a few days to get some idea of ranges possible.

Ill also search for ways to create my own firmware or install tools onboard. Will openwrt fit?

Its so quick for an old device, it also has a mobile app/interface which took me by supprise.
Lots to look into.
Ill dump the firmware soon.

Since MAC is placeholder might be device is broken and inoperational.
