I live in Italy and hope there aren't the same issues with carriers.
I will check carefully the regulations in my country to ensure that it is not against the law, but I see that stores sell such devices. If it is not legal to build a custom one, then I suppose it will not be legal even the commercial ones sold by the stores.
Just for curiosity, at what maximum distance can a tower be reached with a good quality signal? Because in long distances is likely that there are so many obstacles. I suppose that some visibility is still needed for a good and reliable connection. I can think that it may be good for a tower located on the top of a hill and bad for a tower located in the centre of a city with lot of buildings.

My three pesos to the thread - buy outdoor unit, best with ofw something like nr7101 or better, put some nice router to do gateway part, put some nice ap and for sure it will wirk the best way. Don't waste time and money for bs legos like bpi r4 or similiar . Or pay isp to put ftth.
