Need Hardware Purchase Recommendations For Wi-Fi Router Supporting OpenWRT 2

What is the cheapest Wi-Fi router on the market, with a 2.4 + 5 GHz band wireless system, that supports the latest stable OpenWRT release (23.05.5), and can support the SQM Packages, that is available for purchase today, 10/14/2024, on amazon.com?

Thank you in advance!

When based in the US then Linksys MX4300 / LN1301 might be a good deal to purchase when available for < $40 (support is still pending though see here)

Other options, which as far as i know are already supported in 23.05, are
ASUS TUF-AX4200
ASUS RT-AX59U
Cudy M3000
D-Link AQUILA PRO AI M30
Dynalink DL-WRX36

Whoa $34 USD. Not bad. Thank you for the suggestion. Marked and noted, and honestly probably what I am going to go with. I just need something to act as a dumb ap for a friend's setup.

$170 USD.

Doesn't show up on amazon for me.

Cudy AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 2.5G Mesh System(M3000) $80 USD.

D-Link AQUILA PRO AI AX3000 Smart WiFi 6 Router - (M30) $90 USD

$60 USD.

Great suggestions. Thank you!

Might be good to clarify "support sqm packages" vs how fast your internet speed is, just to set expectations?

200 mbps up and down? Again this won't be the main router, it will only be an AP that feeds into the main using an Ethernet cable. The Main router is an old haswell pc he has sitting in a closet.

I missed the "dumb AP" comment thanks!

Yeah no worries if it's just an AP not the main router. SQM is for main router bufferbloat stuff.

200mbps sounds fine in terms of if you ever needed to press the above items into router duty anyway. Was more thinking if you're talking 400-600Mbps+ or gigabit routing.
