I'm looking for users with ipq40xx/generic routers who would be willing to test something for me.
I've been trying to determine whether a connectivity issue I'm seeing is specific to my router or affects other devices based on the same platform.
When using QoSmate's Hybrid Mode, my internet connection eventually stops working even though the PPPoE session stays connected. Restarting the network interface or restarting QoSmate immediately restores connectivity.
I spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting this in the QoSmate thread, and one possibility is that it's related to the ipq40xx/generic platform or a kernal level issue rather than a configuration issue. At this point, I'd simply like to know whether anyone else with similar hardware can reproduce the same behavior.
For comparison, CAKE and HFSC both run without any issues. The problem only occurs with Hybrid Mode.
I've already tested:
- Multiple OpenWrt versions stable and snapshots
- Both Stable and Snapshots of QoSmate
- Fresh configurations
The behavior has been consistent across all of them.
System information:
- Router: NETGEAR RBR50
- Target:
ipq40xx/generic - CPU: ARMv7 Processor rev 5 (v7l)
- OpenWrt: 25.12.4
- Kernel: 6.12.87
If anyone has an ipq40xx/generic router and is willing to try Hybrid Mode, I'd really appreciate knowing whether you can reproduce the issue or if it works normally for you. That would help determine whether this is platform-specific or something unique to my router.
