Is there already, or will there be an updated guide or a wiki that walks users through the precise steps to configure the latest OpenWrt firmware (24.10.5 at this writing) as a Dumb Access Point? Lots of changes since previous iterations of OpenWrt firmware and I and other users can really use good instructions covering the step by step process to set it up correctly and optimally.
My large collection of obsolete hardware are now best suited to be plug and play “Dumb Access Points.” Seems like this must have been done already. Point me the way if so.
Are there deficiencies in the bridged AP wiki article below? I recently spent time rewriting it - I think with 24.10 in mind. Nothing would have changed since then.
Since swconfig was superseded by DSA I was missing that piece in my knowledge when configuring from scratch. Looks like you’ve covered that. I knew someone must have covered it. Thanks for the directions. I’m just changing it to use DHCP instead of a static address to make it more plug and play.
