Multicast Wired Only

Hello,

I'm trying to configure a multicasting application to work (jack2). Host A and Host B are directly connected by wire to the router. I have set /sys/devices/virtual/net/br-lan/bridge/multicast_snooping to 0. I don't need/want it to go via the wireless.

Is there anything else I need to do? I've read about igmpproxy and udpxy and things, but they all seem to refer to getting it over wireless as well, or do I still need them due to the bridge?

Cheers

With no snooping every packet will be flooded to every bridge port, so if you have wifi in the bridge it will go out over wifi. That's why snooping is a good idea, though it may be buggy. I'd try snooping first.

Well, ends up I was doing everything correctly. Stupid Windows hadn't added the multicast group to the routing table for its interface!
