This franken O̶p̶e̶n̶Wrt-MTK private build looks promising so far.
A "dev" with no own hardware to test making experiments with the hardware of forum members, distributing binary blobs to "volunteers" via private messages. Very OpenWrt-like.

and you think i'm doing that for bad things? let me understand what you mean, man or corporal. " fammi capire cosa vuoi dire, uomo o caporale"

anyway new build are ready let's continue.

have you offered someyhing to openwrt? alot reason why i'm doing that!
first: vendors use openwrt root folder to make on the market the devices.
second: i use vendor info to help OPENWRT.
3) i'm tired of people coming on this forum and saying my mt device is very slow.
4) i love mt76, but not everyone can use that, non for every use case.
5) the most important: mtk drivers run on old kernel, so i'm the one that i'll try to make run mtk wifi drivers on stable openwrt, because we deserve that.
EDIT
also no openwrt fake root are running that!
OPENWRT

I noticed 2 WiFi config pages somehow...

  • one has my kept config (https://<foo_ip>/cgi-bin/luci/admin/network/wireless)
  • the other (https://<foo_ip>/cgi-bin/luci/admin/network/wifi) has:

Which should I be using?

(Also, I had to install encryption.)

good, on openwt and on official firmware do you have one or two wifi interface?

???

I think it was because the file was named "wireless" in /etc/config - the folder disappeared on a fresh reset. Now just your wifi folder appears.

Testing...

(I notice your page has channel missing...bandwidth...country...)

:spiral_notepad: Saving and applying, caused a reboot of the router.~~

OK, I'm learning your menus, lol.

no do not keep setting, you can't

this drivers are difficult at beginning so do not warry, that means I know that i'm wrong but the test need be right

ifconfig -a

first

second
lsmod | grep mt

i need to know the real name of the interfaces

I see rai0 and: br-lan, eth0, lan1 lan2, lan3, lo and wan.

I can only edit/enable the configs at the bottom of the screenshot. Sometimes when saving/applying, the router hangs, sometimes it crashes, sometimes I have to pull the power and it boots with no Ethernet. I am only setting the country and enabling.

When I am able to configure and enable the bottom config, I never see any device on-air.
