MT6000 custom build with LuCi and some optimization - kernel 6.12.x

Do you think 128 is a good default steering_flows value? Since that's what @pesa1234 set it to his pull request and I assume he's done that because it's the value that you mentioned on GitHub. But there's already people asking why 128 was picked.

I believe the idea behind using 128 is so that the new script behaves a little more like the old one? At least if you're performing speed tests from the device itself.

I think the lack of documentation is the main issue with packet steering right now, since we've gone from 1 setting that didn't require any tweaking to 2 settings that can be.

OK I'll add on the pull request

it is available to download from the repo, not included as default. I'll add

Hi all, what does it mean if run '/etc/init.d/packet_steering status' returned:

active with no instances

?

I am a little confused on what I got here. Is it the indication of packet steering is NOT working?

Pardon my ignorance but I am new to using snapshots. But can you upgrade an existing installation of this firmware build keeping your personal settings?

it depends if you come from my previous, you can

What are the new changes @pesa1234 ?

Brilliant, thank you, yes, it is your previous build

I'm wondering as well, because the image is double in size now.

Edit: I see, it's cloudflared and tailscaled weighing about 25 Mb each.
zerotier got included as well.

Should I remove? I think we have space right?

Im not complaining at all.

Just stating the changes.

Yes, we have plenty.

Thanks for sharing your images!

I‘m still learning about OpenWrt and it’s a great motivation

I would suggest removing some settings like WED, VPN, cloudflared and adblock because not all users use these packages and there may be compatibility issues.

In my case, I use adguardhome instead of adblock and disable WED because it interferes with SQM.

How stable is the 5GHz WiFi with this version? Does it still freeze/hang?

Dear guys, upload new version.
In the previous (this morning I have add patch from MTK for QoS an WMM, but I forgot a patch for hostapd in rev.1 added). Also removed as default cloudflared and tailscale leaved as module.

This is ok.

What kind of wifi drivers are your builds using?

forked openwrt/mt76 with some mtk patch

Is the WiFi as stable as the stock firmware? (4.5.8)

In my opinion it is stable, but I never test the stock firmware
