So, it appears that any posts that have the old page links embedded will not re-direct to the new pages.
That will have a negative impact on users who find those links in older threads.
and those seeking information through their own bookmarks, or search engines (at least until the old links age out).
It should be possible to redirect old links to new links on the web server
