Microchip LAN7430 - any reason why it is not commonly used

Hi everyone,
My first post there .

As a hobby I create my own PCBs, just for fun. Recently, an idea of creating simple, dual port router/firewall board came to mind. First ethernet port will be from Raspberry Pi CM5, for secondary port I wanted to use Microchip's LAN7430.

And here is a part when I got a strong feeling that I am missing something from reading it's documentation. In the past I saw custom boards which are using LAN7800 which is USB to Ethernet Bridge IC. For me natural choice is to use LAN7430, because it is Ethernet -> PCIe bridge. LAN7800 is going through Ethernet -> USB -> PCIe, so there is more points of failure.

Any reason why there are no LAN7430 boards on market?

Best regards,
Wajs

Most likely this is cost issue, LAN7430 seems to have more features but it might not be useful to usual applications
