Mesh slaves not recognize local hostnames

Hi there,

I sucessful config my home mesh network, all connections are working fine, but on slaves routers the IP's hostnames are not detected, instead of a hostname is showing "?".

On master node the hosts are showing correct from master and slave...but on slave is showing just "?", all trafic and dns resolution for internet is working fine, this just happen with local hostnames.

Any idea how solve this ?

you can add the static ones to the /etc/ethers file then add /etc/ethers to the /etc/sysupgrade.conf, making it survive an upgrade.

Yes, I saw this...make static one, so there's no way to have it dynamic on slaves nodes ? Just using static approach ?

another option, you might want to run it in cron.

Here's a simple way to solve this problem. Install fping and edit rc.local to fping each ip in the sub-net at startup. Means slightly slower boot-up... Install fping opkg update opkg install fping edit rc.local to include: fping -g 192.168.1.0/24 exit 0 Works for me!
