I am a part of volunteer group that serves age restricted neighborhood with communications using ham and citizen band radios connecting to first responders when 911 & cell towers are overwhelmed.
An increasing number of people are now dependent on health / meds that rely on Internet. Even though all of them have broadband, some outages are not uncommon.
Is it possible to create a an emergency network (using mesh?) with one SSID that with load-balance on alive gateways and give a never fail (or higher reliable) wifi network? Bandwidth is not important as it is not expected to use a lot of data.
Any pointers will be appreciated.
