Try to instal full wpad.
thanks a lot. packages below do the trick
opkg remove wpad-basic-mbedtls
opkg install wpad-wolfssl --force-overwrite
opkg install hostapd-wolfssl --force-overwrite

So what is the actual process to get this ported upstream so itβs a build target for main releases in the future?
No sure , but would be great because default firmware doesn't include WPA3.
P.S. Final release "OpenWrt 23.05.0" is working as charm
Release version OpenWrt 23.05.0
is working well for me too!
Thanks for everyones work to get it to this state
I used OpenWrt_firmware_meraki_mr18_202305082338.zip - latest snapshot.
Can't configure this as a router with wan on eth0 and lan - all wifi.
I can only add 1 Wi-Fi interface to the lan. Not like on 19.07.10 , where I check all the necessary boxes.
br-lan has no other interface to choose - only eth0.
Have you tried 23.05 rc3, rc4 or other releases for configure as router?
In 19.07.10 all work with a simple configuration.
https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/23.05.0/targets/ath79/nand/
any reason you are not using the stable 23.05 release?
i use snapshot because i want integrated wpad-wolfssl. i return to 19.07.10 and use router.
If stable 23.05 have problem too i don't want to waste time for installing and configuring the release.
you can go to the configuration lan and see if there is an option to remove the checkmark from eth0?
will all other interfaces wifi remain checked?
configure wan.
load the screenshot. you can resume changes - dont apply
Hello after this long time ;-]
Do you recall with which Mikrotik devices could the merge of MR18 cause breakage, or rather - on which NAND chips? I've since got my hands on a RB911-5HPnD, a RB911-5HPacD (which was using soft ECC) and a RB2011-UiAS (which is heavily WIP now, but used soft ECC in ar71xx
), so maybe I could verify this now by myself. My RB911G-5HPacD with Samsung NAND seems to be working, using image for RB921GS-5HPacD for now, though I'm not sure about exact capabilities of this NAND chip.
I got a few RB922 boards which suffer from this commit.
I have a commit locally which reverts this stuff to keep my boards working.
Would need to take a look at a nand chip ..
Allright, I'll take a look into ath79-nand driver, and try to figure out the right code path to insert the fixup we need. This is a regression, so should be fixed as soon as possible.
Anyone else seeing issues with the wifi not initializing on the latest 23.05.2 release?
What do you mean by "not initializing"? Driver probe fails, or the interface doesn't start, or yet something else?
Edit: just checked my unit and it brings up all three radios just fine - although I'm using a local build with some patches on top of 23.05.2.
Where can I obtain a working/stable release.
The one I downloaded from https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org has bricked my unit.
Any particular steps to flash the unit rather then just upload the via luci.
Thanks
Which version did you download? I think that my fix from main for booting the initramfs was backported back to 24.10.1, but I'm not sure. I was busy lately, so I haven't had time to try this build on MR18 yet.
As for flashing, I recommend having initramfs flashed as recovery kernel, then pressing "2" while in nandloader will allow you to recover.
A boot log from serial console would be handy to help you recover.
Thanks I have managed to recover via UART.
looks like it was a power issue.
