I get rather low speeds. Why? Is this normal for this chipset?
I have a D-Link dir-860L b1 with the MT7612e running openwrt 25.12.4. It is a secondary router for me, but I can't say I've noticed any performance degradation on this latest stable version of openwrt. I've been running openwrt on this router since version 17.01 (around 9 years) so I don't have any recent experience with stock drivers on this hardware. Out of curiosity, which router do you have, and what version of openwrt are you running? What speeds are you seeing and what are you expecting?
Ok I fixed it, my bad totally forgot to load EEPROM data.
I'm running it over 10 years and actually is on version 22.03.3. On TOH the latest version appointed is 24.10.5
Based on this post, I think the TOH is manually updated and may not reflect the latest supported version. It is recommended to check the Firmware Selector for the latest version available (eg for the 860l).
