Lyra AC2200 OWRT 24.10 install issue

I have some refurbed Lyra MAP-AC2200 AP's with latest ASUS firmware (3.0.0.4.384_46630-g3e43ad7).

I issue the "mtd-write -d linux -i /tmp/openwrt-ipq40xx-generic-asus_map-ac2200-initramfs-fit-uImage.itb" command which completes with no apparent error.
"reboot -f" issues a reboot but the unit simply comes back up in the Lyra firmware (192.168.72.1).

Any ideas?

downgrade stock fw if possible, I've flashed three of these, but they probably weren't running the latest and greatest fw version from ASUS.

then there's serial - https://openwrt.org/toh/asus/lyra_map-ac2200#oem_installation_using_the_tftp_method

You can also downgrade with asus firmware restore tool if their gui does not let you.

Thanks for the tips. After more digging, I found all of the prior firmware downloads for the AC2200. Reflashing to the oldest still did not work. What did work is issuing an 'mtd-unlock -d linux' command prior to the mtd-write. Not sure why this tidbit is really not mentioned anywhere lol. All three units are now successfully running 24.10. Yay.

Sidenote, one of the AP's had version 3.0.0.4.382_11077 which is ancient apparently, not even listed on their firmware downloads and does not support SSH/SCP (telnet does after enabling)... luckily tftp did work for pulling down the .itb file
