Luci upgrade with wrong HW version (15.05 on TL-WR1043ND v3)

I have installed openwrt 15.05 on TL-WR1043ND v3 some time ago. But it was openwrt 15.05 package for HW TL-WR1043ND v2.

Today I wanted to make luci upgrade and I have tried to use upgrade package for TL-WR1043ND v3.
I received error message:
"The uploaded image file does not contain a supported format. Make sure that you choose the generic image format for your platform."

So I tried to upgrade with package for TL-WR1043ND v2 and upgrade was successful.
Then I tried again upgrade with firmware for v3. The same error message.

Is it possible to easily upgrade for correct HW v3 version to have everything ok?

In this case it seems that v2 and v3 don't differ aside from their HWID (and I hope you didn't clobber that in ubootenv). If that's the case, you are just hampered by OpenWrt's safeguards against flashing a wrong firmware, which just can override/ ignore by supplying -F (--force) to sysupgrade.
