Is there any possibility to increase the rootfs_size parameter to values beyond 1024 (1GiB)?

My router has 8GB of eMMC. This parameter must have seemed futuristic back in ~2010 when routers didn't have that much storage, but reality has caught up and now I can only use 1/8th of my router's actual storage capacity in 2025. Saying, we should increase this drastically to catch up to what devices can do today plus a sizable extra to account for future increases.

There's no particular reason that comes to my mind for not allowing this, now that ASU is a thing. People want to use their storage.
