Luci-app-openvpn not showing up as a service

Greetings!

I have installed OpenWRT stable (OpenWrt 18.06.4 r7808-ef686b7292 / LuCI openwrt-18.06 branch (git-19.170.32094-4d6d8bc) version on a NETGEAR WNDR3700v2. I am trying to add OpenVPN to the router. I installed luci-app-openvpn ( [luci-app-openvpn_git-19.305.42300-af5dc26-1_all.ipk]) from the snapshots site (http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/packages/mips_24kc/luci/luci-app-openvpn_git-19.305.42300-af5dc26-1_all.ipk). After installing, it does not show up as one of the services in Luci interface. Do i need to anything else? Please suggest.

welcome.... :space_invader:

  1. you might already know.. that device has memory constraints
  2. a luci ipk direct will give you the luci code... which checks for .... openvpn... when it does not find it... it exits... so you see nothing

( not 18... dependencies may vary )

# opkg update
# opkg info openvpn-openssl

Version: 2.4.7-2
Depends: libc, kmod-tun, liblzo2, libopenssl1.1
Status: unknown ok not-installed

Thank you!

I have installed openvpn-openssl as well.
When I install the released version (git-19.302.19547-50788da-1) of luci-app-openvpn, it shows up as a service. However, it does not have an option to add the configuration file supplied by my VPN service provider.
Any suggestions?

Please have a look at official documentation at openwrt.org. You will find almost everything there. If you still can't seem to make it work then please ask again.
