Hello everyone,
I flashed an AVM Fritz!Box 4040 with OpenWRT 24.10 about 2 months ago. It was my first contact with it. So long I'm happy with that, but there is an problem:
Every few (2-4) days (sometimes more often) it hangs, so that the router is not reachable over ssh or LuCI, regardless of the device. At this time ist is also impossible to reach the samba shares.
Error messages at trying LuCI via browser are like "unable to load lua runtime" or "unable to load the requested CGI program, I/O error".
Trying to reach samba shares via file browser, I get "the argument is invalid" or I have to type user and pw, but it won't accept.
Internet connection ist still running everytime, over LAN as well as the activated WLAN-connections.
After power off and reconnect, all works normal (so long...)
Maybe important (?):
- WAN is over USB (tethering via 5G android-smartphone). For this I used one of the USB-ports directly.
- extroot is used because of not enough space for adblock and samba. For that there is / on an 1 TB SSD at an active (own power adapter) USB-hub, connected to the second USB. Additionally there is a second 4 TB HDD at that Hub.
- 2 samba shares, one on each of the above-mentioned drives
The system protocol isn't really insightful. There's always a larger time window missing there.

You can see the larger gap from 3th to 6th January.
Last I did, was updating the packages:
- luci-lua-runtime
- luci-lib-base
...and one more I don't remember...
But that doesn't change anything.
