I tried to install Sierra Wirels MC8780 and MC7700 but the board could not read both of them.

The boordmobi lte wireless module

root@OpenWrt:~# ls -l /sys/bus/usb/devices/
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root             0 Jan  1  1970 1-0:1.0 -> ../../../devices/platform/ehci-platform/usb1/1-0:1.0

lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root             0 Apr 16 09:22 1-1:1.0 -> ../../../devices/platform/ehci-platform/usb1/1-1/1-1:1.0

lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root             0 Jan  1  1970 usb1 -> ../../../devices/platform/ehci-platform/usb1

And i got this also:

root@OpenWrt:~# dmesg | grep usb
[ 4.126177] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbfs

How i can configure it? should i buy another LTE wirelss module? what is supported?

did you tried to install all the dependencies https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/recipes/3gdongle ?
also it could support ncm feature, so install ncm packages too

Regards

With the Sierra devices, do you get "new high-speed USB device"? You should see that with any USB device, even if its specific driver is not installed.

Those will need qmi, net-sierra, and serial-sierra drivers.

I saw new high-speed USB. So i should install qmi and net-sierra and serial-sierra. Will try it.

I did part of it. But tomorrow will try it. Is there any specific LTE module that work ? not so much expensive? because i need to buy around 200 :slight_smile:

The most important thing about module selection is that it covers the bands used by the LTE network you're subscribing to. If it works on regular Linux it probably can work with OpenWrt.

anything that supports a compatible communication protocol, qmi,ncm. ppp is not ok for speed. aliexpress ?

Can anyone here please tell me how to unlock LTE frequencies on BM806U-E1

  • How is this related to the original topic?
  • How is this related to OpenWrt?
  • "Frequencies" (or channels) are not usually locked out on a cell device. If you are unable to connect to the channel your carrier uses, it's likely not available on that card.
