Looking for beta testers for Mofi 5500 OpenWRT firmware

Hi guys. I've recently picked up the Mofi 5500 firmware project again. I've added a PR and others have given their insights and suggestions. It's now time for others to test out the firmware as well, and report back with their thoughts on the firmware.

Notice
Please note, that one topic of discussion is that the firmware doesn't necessarily need to be compiled with LuCI support, so the descriptor files for the Mofi 5500 are not able to enforce the installation of Modem Manager on LuCI. However, Modem Manager can be installed in the software packages by updating the lists (click the button) and then filtering for luci-proto-modem-manager which will add the "Cellular Network" status page, and give you the ability to add a new interface (Network -> Interfaces) using the ModemManager protocol.

Solution
To make it easier for people to test this firmware, I've decided that since releases with LuCI are quite popular, that the release below will be compiled with the defaults, but also with the addition of the LuCI defaults (non-ssl) and that of Modem Manager.

To test this beta release, perform the following steps.

  1. Go to your stock MoFi interface and backup your settings in preparation for the next step.
  2. Update your Mofi stock firmware to the latest and download a copy of the firmware from Mofi's website.
  3. Back up your settings once more to catch any changes with the latest Mofi firmware.
  4. Download the beta software from this post. (Feel free to upload it to VirusTotal.com to verify that it's legit.)
  5. Optionally check the Sha256 sum to make sure that it matches. (On Linux, run sha256sum openwrt.bin to get the hash for the file.)
  6. Upload the beta software as an update to the Mofi stock firmware the usual way.
  7. Test the firmware and report back in a reply.
  8. Optionally upload the Mofi stock firmware to your router and then upload your backed up settings from step 3 to restore your router to the state it started in before your test.

Connecting to a cell network:

  1. Go to "Network -> Interfaces".
  2. Add a new interface, and select the ModemManager protocol in the dropdown.
  3. Enter the needed data your provider requires to connect to the cell network.

NOTE: This file will continue to exist at least until it's merged into the official OpenWRT sources.

Hi guys. I'm just bumping this to find beta testers. FYI, I've been running versions of this for years and now it's working its way into the official sources. I just need some people to test it and write a comment on the PR saying it's working, or ask for adjustments.
