Linksys WRT 1900 ACSv2

Hi Forum!

After installing the latest stable firmware (https://openwrt.org/toh/linksys/wrt1900acs) on my Linksys wrt 1900 acsv2 router, I have no internet access at all.
The net comes from an ISP router which is in bridge mode.
I changed the IP address of the router in OpenWrt from 192.168.1.x to a different one, set 1.1.1.1 as DNS, but no internet. When I try the diagnostics, and nslookup openwrt.org, says refused. If I turn off dnsmask, says unreachable.
I tried OpenWrt after DDWrt, there I have internet access.
Do you know what I misconfigure? I am on DDWrt now, as otherwise I cannot write here :), I didn't create logs/screenshots, I hoped you may know what I miss. If not, I can put back OpenWrt and collect some logs, screenshots.

Thx!

If the IP is referring to the WAN port, modem isn't bridged, or you should go back to the default WAN port DHCP client setting.

Hi

If you are running 24.10.0, the DSA configuration changes your MAC address of the WAN port of the WRT1900ACS. You may need to power down your ISP equipment and the linksys, maybe for 10 minutes, and power up. This will "clear" the expected MAC address from your ISP end. You should receive an IP address within 1-5 minutes of after booting.

I have Comcast/Xfinity. When I switch routers, I have to power down for a few minutes.

... or override and use the same WAN port MAC on all devices.

Lol, ok, I will give a try, thx for the idea. Is there a way to somehow fix the WAN MAC instead of turning off both devices? Asking because I am thinking what happens at a firmware upgrade or reboot?

Restore the defaults, and change MAC under interfaces (I believe).

Reboot is not a problem, firmware upgrade with keeping settings also not a problem, firmware upgrade without keeping settings might occasionally give a problem when MAC address has changed but usually this is not the case

Thx for you help, works! Super.
