Linksys EA8300 wifi generic unknown radios

I recently upgraded my EA8300 from an old 24.xx snapshot to 24.10.4. While running the snapshot I never used WiFi as the testing I was helping with was on a lan port speed drop issue.

After updating to 24.10.4 by flashing the sysupgrade.bin I then uploaded the config file from my old router that was on 23.xx.xx. I now see 5 radios total, the first two are described as “generic unknown”. One of the generic radios has my old Guest network associated with it.

I can see from the wiki on the EA8300 that it has 3 radios, which all show fine and are working as expected.

How do I clean up my wireless settings to remove these phantom radios?

thanks,

mikehd

Just reset and then add access points from unzipped backup file.

rm -f /etc/config/wireless
wifi config

In doubt completely reset your device. This always works.

thanks, that cleared it up.
