I followed all the instructions on the wiki page:
however I dont see the menu switch
Is there anything I need to do to activate it?

ipq40xx, and with that your ea8300, has been migrated from swconfig to dsa in 23.05.x (which is good, and fixes a lot of issues with the old swconfig drivers).

In short, that's all o.k. and as expected, you can configure your requirements as described for dsa.
