Linksys EA7300 V2 unstable v24.10

Hi all! I have a Linksys EA7300 V2 and eversince OpenWRT v24.10 came out I have not been able to upgrade.

The issue I am experiencing is the following: Once I install v24.10 on the router sometimes it boots successfully and everything seems fine, however most of the time it would not boot (the light is stable, does not blink and I cannot connect to it).

I tried several versions of v24.10 (v24.10.1, v24.10.2, v24.10.4) but nothing changes.

I also tried connecting it to USB-to-TTL adapter however I cannot not see anything in the console.

Has somebody else experienced similar issues?

Does anyone have any further troubleshooting tips to figure out the issue?

swapped Rx and Tx pins ?

yes, as explained in the wiki, RX→TX, TX→RX, GND→GND.

great, tried swapping them anyway ?

Just tried it on my Mac with RX→RX, TX→TX, GND→GND and it worked. Interestingly on my linux machine it did not work. I will make sure to request edit on the device page to fix the error.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I will now try to install v24 and see the log!

problem is Rx and Tx can mean two things, Rx and Tx pins, or "connect your Tx and Rx wires here".

Alright, started reproducing the issue. It seems like more than one.

This one here happens when I plug off the router and then plug it back in (~5 seconds apart) → the router boots directly into the linksys failover partition.

Here is the log: https://pastebin.com/h42M1y5U

If it boots and works than it's not related to settings, but rather related to a hardware issue.

What happens with 23.05? I assume nothing as you noticed issue is related to the change. Try to install 23.05 from scratch.

The wiki describes memory issues with some devices.

I have been using the device with 23.05 for the last couple of years without any issues.

I have seen this issue initially when I started testing the upgrade to 24.10 however it seemed unrelated.
