I have two ea6x00 running with openwrt (ea6300 & ea6500)
both show that behavior, to come up with former firmware (dd-wrt or stock firmware) after reboot , especially when new packets are installed.
These are dual partition devices, and they will switch the boot partition based on a certain pattern of power-cycling or failed-boot events.
ok , but it happens when I do a "normal" reboot from luci or ssh
how can I fix this behavior ?

sine i have downgraded linksys firmware to version 1.1.40.160989_prod.img openwrt seems to be stable.
but today again comes up as linksys after installing software & reboot.
I have the exact same issue with this device. You can install OpenWRT, DD-WRT, Tomato etc.. but after 2 reboots, it reverts to the stock firmware. @psherman This device has no power switch and it is not supported by advanced reboot.
