Hello. Im running
GL.iNet GL-MT6000
on
OpenWrt 23.05.5 r24106-10cc5fcd00 / LuCI openwrt-23.05 branch git-24.264.56413-c7a3562
And in the logs I see a lot of link up down in the logs:
[5280365.199990] br-lan: port 2(lan1) entered blocking state
[5280365.223596] br-lan: port 2(lan1) entered forwarding state
[5281197.886882] br-lan: port 2(lan1) entered disabled state
[5281197.886999] mt7530-mdio mdio-bus:1f lan1: Link is Down
[5281216.573295] mt7530-mdio mdio-bus:1f lan1: Link is Up - 2.5Gbps/Full - flow control rx/tx
I have internet connected on port1 (eth1) and a mac mini on port 2 (lan1 in this case) thus it causes a lot of issues but since the mac mini is faster then gigabit I obviously want to have it on said port.
Does anyone know the cause of this or how to address it?
Start by replacing the cable. That is the most common cause of this type of issue. Even if you have a new, high spec cable, don’t just assume it is good and working properly. Bad cables can be the result of factory defects that escape and/or they sustain other damage.
This probably won’t have any practical benefit since your other port is just 1G. So unless you are using the Mac as a server on your network (for wifi clients), it probably will never actually hit more than 1Gbps real world bandwidth.
