I have a Netgear WAX610Y AP running OpenWrt, connected via its single 2.5G Ethernet port to a Linksys MX4300 (also running OpenWrt) using a PoE injector. The injector is used to power the access point, and the link goes from the WAX610Y through the injector into one of the MX4300’s LAN ports (1, 2, or 3). However, the Ethernet link between the MX4300 and the WAX610Y never comes up, the port stays down. Interestingly, if I connect the WAX610Y (still powered through the PoE injector) to a regular computer instead of the MX4300, the link immediately becomes active. I’ve already tested with different PoE injectors, but none of them resolved the issue. Could you suggest other possible causes or solutions? Thanks a lot!

Have you ruled out the cable? Meaning if you connect it directly from WAX610Y to MX4300 and power the MX4300 with power supply, does the link come up?
Hello,
The WAX610Y AP can only be powered via Power over Ethernet. It does not have a separate DC power connector. I also tried different combinations of cables (straight-through, crossover, cat5e, cat6) to no avail.
Can you run an ethtool ethX
on both devices? Replace the ethX
with the appropriate interface.
