LEDE & access points

Hi,

Can someone recommend powerful (802.3at POE, 2.4GHz & 5GHz) access point which support stable release of lede.

Ideally for us would be TP Link EAP 245, but we couldn't find it in supported devices list, we found only EAP120.

Cheers,

Ruslan

I really like the Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO, but I've never used it with LEDE/OpenWRT (only the Unifi firmware and controller configuration). It uses 802.3af (802.3at is backwards compatible with af), and has high performance radio systems, both 2.4GHz and 5GHz and supports 802.11ac very well.

YMMV with respect to flashing 3rd party firmware, but it seems people have been having success with flashing by downgrading the first-party firmware on the device

10 devices in the ToH matching your criteria:

  • AP
  • PoE
  • 2.4 + 5GHz
  • Supported by stable release

Thanks for your input but 80% of the routers already discontinued in that list or not available to purchase in my country. I need the solution for popular range of routers like Aruba/Cisco/Tp-Link/Ubiquiti/D-Link etc

And regarding Ubiquiti UAP AC LR/PRO (which is a good option for me), still nobody confirmed that it is possible to flash the LEDE on it, after they introduced an updated firmware >3.7.* with signatures check. Which doesn't allow to flash LEDE/OpenWRT with following error https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/472lhh6inzl206s/Screenshot%202017-04-06%2016.27.50.png?dl=0

Hi,

i can confirm:
https://blog.cavebeat.org/2018/01/install-openwrt-lede-17-01-4-on-ubiquiti-uap-ac-lite/

I've done this 3 weeks ago. With Success.

My board is: UAP-AC-LITE, but the boards are pretty similar.

And i have soldered already serial pins on it to debrick it when i lock myself out.
