Been out of the loop for about 3 years. Trying to go from 23.05.10 to 24.10.0 but unable due to error/warning message. Seems I need the latest installer so as to start all over.
Can someone please provide link to the actual file to download? I keep going in circles.
Thank you,
Rich F
P.S. I think there should be a separate category for upgrading along with its issues.
Tried that and when it links to the installer in GitHub under dangowrt instructios, the link is broken as seen below:
The links are still there in the GitHub repo, but they've been buried a bit underneath releases for a different device. Here is the direct link to the unsigned installer that can be used to go from OpenWRT 23.05.x to 24.10.0 (installer v. 1.1.4):
https://github.com/dangowrt/owrt-ubi-installer/releases/download/v1.1.4/openwrt-24.10.0-mediatek-mt7622-linksys_e8450-ubi-initramfs-recovery-installer.itb
As per the instructions, please make sure you install a sysupgrade file after the installer has completed its work. If you do not install the sysupgrade, no changes will be saved because the installer only loads the initramfs (recovery) firmware.
Sysupgrade produced alongside installer 1.1.4: https://github.com/dangowrt/owrt-ubi-installer/releases/download/v1.1.4/openwrt-24.10.0-mediatek-mt7622-linksys_e8450-ubi-squashfs-sysupgrade.itb
Most up-to-date sysupgrade at the time of this post (OpenWRT 24.10.5): https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/24.10.5/targets/mediatek/mt7622/openwrt-24.10.5-mediatek-mt7622-linksys_e8450-ubi-squashfs-sysupgrade.itb
