I’m using openwrt latest snapshot for my RM65 (mt7981) router.
The snapshot of 6 december works great. But in the last week when I updated and compiled, the router itself has internet, but everything connected to the router has not.
I tried (from router shell) /etc/init.d/firewall restart and then got some warnings that bpr nft files are missing. When I compiled the latest snapshot without BPR, everything works fine.
Also, from the BPR menu from luci, it gives a warning that some BPR files are outdated. So I guess thats an issue with the latest snapshot that PBR doesn’t work correctly anymore.
Just putting it out here, so developers are aware of it if they aren’t already.
It appears you are using firmware that is not from the official OpenWrt project.
When using forks/offshoots/vendor-specific builds that are "based on OpenWrt", there may be many differences compared to the official versions (hosted by OpenWrt.org). Some of these customizations may fundamentally change the way that OpenWrt works. You might need help from people with specific/specialized knowledge about the firmware you are using, so it is possible that advice you get here may not be useful.
Ask for help from the maintainer(s) or user community of the specific firmware that you are using.
Provide the source code for the firmware so that users on this forum can understand how your firmware works (OpenWrt forum users are volunteers, so somebody might look at the code if they have time and are interested in your issue).
If you believe that this specific issue is common to generic/official OpenWrt and/or the maintainers of your build have indicated as such, please feel free to clarify.
It’s not that. Its also happening on my snapshot and 25.12 on my Raspberry PI4. And I bet it’s also happening on other routers.
It’s PBR in latest snapshot and 25.12 versions that doesn’t work correctly anymore.
I have a lot of work to do in life so I’ll just keep it at this. It’s just meant as a fyi towards developers, so that they are aware that PBR got broken since +- 2 weeks back in snapshot and also in 25.12.
I looked for a “common pbr thread”, couldn’t find any. I don’t have time for this.
I just mentioned here that PBR is broken in latest snapshots/25.12. Do with it what you want.
