I installed openwrt using tftpd method and I don’t know anything about this topic and I just started yesterday, I successfully installed Openwrt on my Archer c5 v4 but after installation the router was not discoverable and I couldn’t access it through the Lan, I double clicked the WPS button on the router and it was discoverable, connected it and got into Luci, but my lan and wan port still doesn’t work, am I doing something wrong?
Openwrt doesn’t use the wps button for wifi pairing and the like. So it might have just been a timing thing.
If the lan and wan ports are not working, how are you connected (wifi, Ethernet, serial)?
Connected through wifi. One more thing I noticed that the ethernet port led lights up on the motherboard, just for 2 sec right after I turn the router on, I don’t know what I can make of it though.
WiFi is disabled by default on openwrt. There is no way to connect this way from a fresh install unless you build your own image with either different defaults or a firstboot script.
Did you do either of these things?
Or did you upgrade Openwrt while keeping settings?
Or maybe you configured post-install and then something went wrong?
But, since you can connect, let’s have a look at your config.
Please connect to your OpenWrt device using ssh and copy the output of the following commands and post it here using the "Preformatted text </> " button (red circle; this works best in the 'Markdown' composer view in the blue oval):

Remember to redact passwords, VPN keys, MAC addresses and any public IP addresses you may have:
ubus call system board
cat /etc/config/network
cat /etc/config/wireless
cat /etc/config/dhcp
cat /etc/config/firewall
I did not do any of those, and honestly I don't even know what those mean haha, it's weird but I'm guessing that the wps button forced reset the radios and because I connected it before it turned off, the openwrt settings changed, idk but I'm in for sure, and even when power cycling the router off and on, one ssid always shows up, on wifi.
These are all the result I got from the commands
root@OpenWrt:~# ubus call system board

Where did you found this file? It's 6 year old release....
Its the last updated openwrt version for Archer C5 v4, I got it from openwrt website, it was on the git project of Archer c5, I'm pretty sure that's the last updated version and it should work
Ok ...
It's not thats surprising, I'll just install the latest one and get back, I hope this one works
Noway man, it actually worked! thank you so much! I'm so stupid, I don't know how I missed that but damn I'm in now and all ports work now, one last question though connecting this openwrt router with my main router from lan to wan, the internet is not working, can you please help me with that?
edit: now the internet works both router was running on the same Ip now I fixed that too, thank you so much for you're time all yall, I was really stressed that I ruined that router, I cannot express how thankful I'm through text, lol
