Is it possible to install openwrt on this device
MTK Chipset:MT6735
I think it's an android system
want to be able to use guest mode and wifi repeater function
only C910 and N650 are supported.
Thank you for replying
is there any other alternative towards it?
alternative, meaning ... ?
use another firmware for same chipset
No such thing in existence. It is android chipset to start with.
So there's no solution?
OpenWrt is not possible on boxes that share a single chip and firmware for the LTE modem as well as further routing. This is because there are no open-source LTE drivers.
The supported models run LTE in a separate chip or module, which continues to use its closed-source firmware while OpenWrt is installed to the separate router chip.
More likely postmarketos can help with android bootloaders, framebuffers etc with their debian-ubuntu for eom mobiles.
I don't understand can you please explain further
Meaning I'm stuck with whatever firmware is installed on the device?
Meaning people casually booting ubuntu in place of android can help you much better.
i'm very new to this can you please guide me?
Then you're most likely in way over your head.
actually wanted to try openwrt cause a video i watched told me it had everything i needed and more so was thinking i could install it on the mifi device. Now it seems I'll need more information to do that. Thank you all for the assistance so far.
Seems you'll need a difference device to do that.
Should not be jumping over your head to install virtualbox/vmware player/hyperv sand run an openwrt "router" virtually.
I can run it virtually?
Yes, or off an USB flash drive...
Yes, the x86/64 version.
