Hello Kong,
failsafe should not be tricky at all - one can get R7800 router to failsafe mode pretty easily. So question is, does your build divert from the original falsafe configuration in OpenWrt Master? I mean things like the hardcoded 192.168.1.1 IP address of the router, or port 22 for SSH connection etc?
What I want to achieve is pretty simple:
- Enter Failsafe mode, greatly documented here:
https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/troubleshooting/failsafe_and_factory_reset#failsafe_mode
The trick on R7800 is to press WLAN button (second from the LED button row on top of R7800) during initial bootup - not complicated at all (Power blinks super fast red when in failsafe).
- Reset pwd in failsafe, great documentation here:
https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/troubleshooting/root_password_reset
I am but unable to both ping the router (when on same subnet) or SSH to router via LAN port 1 (but tried 2,3,4 including WAN, all failed) when it is in failsafe mode.
On the generic hnyman build - this is not a problem to do, see solution to my problem by @hnyman on below thread:
This absolutely does not work when on your build though. Thanks for looking into this.
