Just deployed. Any lock down needed?

Got OpenWRT intalled on my router. I still have it connected to my old router but it's working fine.

I've gone through the quick start guide and I am about to embark on the longer user guide.

I imagine OpenWRT comes as locked down as possible by default, but it never hurts to ask, so here it goes.

Other than stuff in the quick start guide (chagen root password, wifi encryption type and password, etc) is there anything else that should be locked down before a fresh install of OpenWRT can be set up as the only thing separating my internal network and the wild internet?

Thanks in advance!

The defaults should be fine for normal setups, just choose good passwords, setup WPA2PSK with a good PSK and set your (regulatory) country code correctly.
