Jason error installing samba4 in Luci on 25.10.1 and 25.12.1

After installing

|Target Platform|ath79/generic|
|Firmware Version|OpenWrt 25.10.1

on

|Model|TP-Link Archer A7 v5|
|Architecture|Qualcomm Atheros QCA956X ver 1 rev 0|

I installed the recommended packages to use extroot on a USB drive since Samba was to big without the extra space.
I installed extroot and rebooted. All appeared OK.

I then did an opkg update and installed Luci-app-samba4 in Luci and received the jason error.... SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected end of data at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data when install samba4 in openwrt

After a couple of weeks the 25.12.1 version came out and I upgraded to it and did all the same steps.... required packages, extroot, reboot, and rand apk update use luci to install

Output from Cat command requested in instructions...

I then did an APK update and it fininhed OK.
I then installed Luci-app-samba4 and received the following error.

Unable to execute apk install command: SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected end of data at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data when install samba4 in openwrt

I did a couple of searches and they recommended using apk in cli. I did that with apk add luci-app-samba4 and it installed ok no error.

Leaving it installed I went back to luci and tried again and it did not get the error.

So all is well now and I'm not sure what else I can give you since it is all ok now.

I did not know if I should delete it and try another install but I decided to do that and then got no error.

Since it happened on 2 releases I thought I would at least put it out here.

Thanks
Steve.
