I've broken my config after celluar network outage

I've been using my set up for about a month now. I learned everything from scratch so I'm not great at troubleshooting yet. I've been troubleshooting for about 8 hours now and could really use some help!

I'm using Quectel RM520N-GL in BPI-R4 on OpenWrt 24.10. The local cell tower had some outages this week and after it came back online, my modem wouldn't reconnect (state = disabled). The first time it eventually connected after rebooting the modem (AT+CFUN=1,1) many times. The same happened again this morning and it would not reconnect. I had installed mwan3 package earlier this week but not configured it - maybe this is the cause of not reconnecting? I've now removed the package.

My existing modemmanager interface reads:

Protocol: ModemManager
RX: 0 B (0 Pkts.)
TX: 0 B (0 Pkts.)
Error: Unknown error (MM_3GPP_OPERATOR_REGISTRATION_FAILED)

In the Luci interface the RM520N-GL is not detected, but I can see that it is detected and visible on /dev/ttyUSB2.

I tried adding a new qmi interface and configured it in /etc/config/network but it also will not connect. From AT commands I can see that I do have sufficient cellular connectivity so this is not the issue (sim card also connects in another device).

Updated to add:

After more reboots, the modem is now not detected by modemmanager or qmi protocol, but I can still communicate with it by luci-app-atcommands so it is not disconnected.

Simplest way would be to snoop config from rooter firmware and replivate with openwrt.

op reg failed means you ate your qota, probably dozen sms-es warned you already.

I have unlimited data and I’ve confirmed that the sim will connect in another device, so not that.
