Isolated lan-Port

A question for my understanding and configuration, as I am not a networker:

If I isolate a router port (lan1-4, not wan/eth), does it still communicate with the non-isolated neighboring ports, e.g. still communicate/access to/with a NAS on the network if its port is not isolated?

Thanks

That depends on your routing configuration and the firewall rules.

Thanks for responding.

So what exactly is the intention of this option with openwrt?

"Port Isoaltion: xxx
Only allow communication with non-isolated bridge ports when enabled"
