Is it possible to move driver from 1 firmware of openwrt to another?

i have firmware that the wifi driver works on my router but it doesnt fit in other things, and firmware that works better but no wifi driver works

Could you be a bit more specific? Wich versions of OpenWrt? Wich router, which drivers?
