It is basically the same but I don't want to brick it!
So please tell me if I can flash it...
Thanks
Here is the AX23 OpenWRT: https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/archer_ax23_v1
My hardware version is v1.20

Same case is meaningless, you can say all boxes with tplink logo are same as well.
First compare OEM bootlog, and flash layout in there.
Then add link to firmware downloads for your router.
tplink factory needs compatible device ID added via safeloader for new device.
How do I get OEM bootlog and flash layout?
Set log level to maximum, power off device, power on and find the place log is shown via web UI.
Also take photo of label - blur barcodes, mac addresses, serial number, one time passcodes.
I'll do it tommorow morning so I'll have proper light also rn I'm a bit busy
Good if you manage to document hardware in a week or month. No rush.
If it says AX23 v1.2 on the device/packaging, you can safely flash it with the v1.0 software. I have done so on dozens of devices (EU as well).
There is some ax1800 device wirhout fw download, in general ax1800 would be 2x2 80mhz 2band design, then model is something else.
Yep, I am just a bit confused because OP wrote that their hardware version is 1.20 and I know of no other AX1800 device that has that version and looks identical to the AX23.
Yeah, I'll post the sticker tomorrow;) good night everyone!

Oops, leaked MAC.... Sorry about that
Btw AX23's site says: "The device is sold as hardware revision v1.20 in certain regions but is identical and can be flashed with OpenWRT as well. "
if you're referring to https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/archer_ax23_v1, it describes the AX23, not the AX1800.
there's no relation between those two devices until the opposite is proven.
Add bootlog as text, and compare to OEM bootlog in AX23 page
Indeed it is Archer AX1800 (EU) ver 1.2
Can you locate firmware download via local site? I find AX1800 in same casing as AX23 but no firmware download, so there is no chance to compare "supportlist" , which in case of "PharOS" outdoor access points covers close to 100 regional models of almost whole series. With cheaper devices list is smaller, but may yield gold.
Hmm, it updated itself in the PnP menu
here it is...
This reminds me of cheap TV tuners lol
Even changelog is mostly the same lol
If anyone else votes just try to flash directly, if it is rejected just a new HW ID needs to be added.
