I have iptv with an app on the smart tv with a wired eth cable from my router on port 2 it does a lot of buffering sinds the install of openwrt on my router.
Must i edit some settings to prevent the buffering?
First thing would be to check if its not an iptv server issue, due to their load. Second, did you change something else when you switched to openwrt, like different DNS provider? Third and most important, If you are using a VPN is it the same connection/server as with your old router?
For instance as a simple test, If I use a VPN server close to my location i can ping the iptv server and get a reply in around 70-80ms. If I change to a server on another continent it goes to 200+ms, and the buffering make it impossible to watch.
You can also measure the buffer-bloat here: https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat but I'm not sure how much it relates to IPTV service, it mostly used for gaming latency. Still if it is too high you can bring it down installing a SQM package: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/traffic-shaping/sqm
thanks for your answer
