Yep, all of those additional settings are optional.
Some people run the performance governor so you can run this if you want:
The speed should be the same. I haven’t seen a difference between aggressive on demand vs performance for typical use.

i have not tested your latest firmware yet and am currently still on hnyman's build. due to my apartment i am forced to use my desktop pc over wifi through multiple walls at the edge of 5 ghz range.
my asus wlan card supports 160mhz and i manage 220mbit (iperf and speedtest) due to the still poor reception strength. the main advantage with 160mhz is that the stability (no drops) is much better than with 80 mhz. but i confirm with apple devices i struggle from openwrt beginning. if this is due to the 160mhz i need to test
Hi @ACwifidude
i am using your OpenWrt 21.02 (Stable) + NSS Hardware Offloading (20210620 factory > 20210905 sysupgrade > 20211010 sysupgrade) build on my R7800.
I just did a Ping test on https://ipv6-test.com/speedtest/ and noticed that I get about 4% packet loss (reproducible ) over IPv6. Take a look at the screenshot below.
And this is what I get in the logs.
Tue Oct 26 07:22:33 2021 user.notice firewall: Reloading firewall due to ifupdate of wan (eth0.2)
Tue Oct 26 08:03:43 2021 daemon.notice netifd: wan6 (16925): cat: write error: Broken pipe
Tue Oct 26 08:04:43 2021 daemon.notice netifd: wan6 (16925): cat: write error: Broken pipe
Tue Oct 26 08:15:36 2021 daemon.notice netifd: wan6 (16925): cat: write error: Broken pipe
I have no clue if the logs and the packet loss are somehow related or not. Also it might be totally up to my ISP (Vodafone Germany, NRW). I am using their new Vodafone Station (WiFi 6, Technicolor CGA6444VF) in BridgeMode (Modem Only Mode). It is a native Dual Stack (no DS-Lite) configuration.
To investigate further I did some iperf3 tests from my desktop PC and from the router:

There is quite some packet loss with IPv6.
During those tests I got some more logs:
Tue Oct 26 09:14:23 2021 daemon.notice netifd: wan6 (16925): cat: write error: Broken pipe
Tue Oct 26 09:19:20 2021 daemon.notice netifd: wan6 (16925): cat: write error: Broken pipe
Tue Oct 26 09:19:28 2021 daemon.notice netifd: wan6 (16925): cat: write error: Broken pipe
One more thing to note: The IPv6 test from my Desktop PC looked different to the ones from my R7800.

I don't want to blame anyhone here. I am just curious.
Now I tried to do some more iperf3 tests from my R7800 but I constantly get
iperf3: error - unable to write to stream socket: Permission denied
after some seconds (e.g. after 21s, 27s, 111s in the test).

no troubles testing IPv4 though
Is this somehow related to bittorrent crashes over UDP?
@xeonpj are those UDP torrents IPv4 or IPv6?

iperf3: error - unable to write to stream socket: Permission denied
Keep in mind that I never used iperf ever before.
The R7800 should be between two clients like it would be in real life. While you can run iperf client from the R7800 - I wouldn’t, the R7800 is heavily underpowered to both route packets and originate/receive packets. You’ll get unsual results when you are making the router be both a client and router.
Run the tests again with two clients on your network with the R7800 in between. That will help isolate is the R7800 routing well vs. what the ISP is doing.
No problem form the router:

Pulling 350/200 through a few walls on the opposite side of my apartment. Definitely have gotten better on the other side of the room but wifi is going to wifi
Today’s 21.02 build is one commit ahead of the new 21.02.1 release. Working well on the R7800s.
Newest build (ath10k-ct version) is also working fine on my R7500v2. Thanks a lot, @ACwifidude.
Long time lurker, first time poster. Just wanted to say THANK YOU for these builds! I maintain both an R7800 and a Zyxel NBG6817... I've been running your CT builds for around six months now and the performance is incredible. I run a very vanilla OpenWRT (really only utilizing BCP38 and Stubby which I add in), and the stability is fantastic on both routers. Since the R7800 is now discontinued, the Zyxel has proven to be every bit as good for my needs... just runs around 20ish degrees warmer.
Again - Thank you!! @ACwifidude
Hey @ACwifidude long time no chat - hope all is well. Reflashed the most fecent NSS stable you had, whats the status of 160 MHZ 5G for R7800 ? i dont seem to be able to get 160 to enable. is there some trick ? Thanks again for the updates etc.
Take a look at your regulatory settings and first see what the acceptable range is.

In the US to get 160mhz - set the channel to 100, wait a couple minutes for the router to make sure there is no RFS (radar interference) and you should be good to go.
Am in the US - had that set - it never came up. am not on CT driver, on the old. is there an issue there ?
Both drivers should work now (but not always with every client).
Two reasons most likely reasons it won’t work is either -
Try the -ct drivers and see if you see a difference.
is there anyone out there that can run some tests on the htb+fq_codel offload in this chip?
NSS fq codel is quite potent - getting near line rate with latency similar to fq codel. Anything in particular you want to see on the test?
Two tests: line rate with a packet cap (if possible), fq_codel on and off.
With a tbf 200mbit. I asked kong over here to take a look, as I lack hardware (I actually do have this hardware in my storage unit), some more details about the test here: CeroWrt II - would anyone care? - #36 by KONG
I'm happy to hear you think it's good, but I've been worrying about the codel implementation in the 500-900mbit range. I think they implemented the wrong drop scheduler.
I suppose this ath10k fix didn't make it into the 21.x build from October 30th?
Correct, but that fix isn't needed for the 21.x branch in the first place, as the faulty mac80211 implementation was only recently backported to the master
branch (21.x was branched off many months ago).
The bug on OpenWrt master
was discussed at

Edit: I'm referring to the OpenWrt master and 21.x branches, not the one from ACwifidude, but I guess he would not have performed the mac80211 backport himself as I'd guess it's not strictly specific to NSS.
that I turn on the pc that I have connected by cable, and it takes about 30 seconds for the internet to be available, is a negative thing. Does anyone else happen to him? what cause is possible? I have proven the problem that it is from the r7800. Thank you!
