IPQ5018: GLiNET B3000 info

Thanks for your work

I'm still reading and I'm a bit lost on how to compile more packages because you can't use opkg yet, I haven't managed to do that yet, do you think it's possible to integrate a wpad that supports mesh? like wpad-wolfssl or wpad-openssl? the basic wpad that it has doesn't work with mesh, but mesh works great without password. I'm also trying to incorporate Batma, that's what I need and because I bought 5 of those. Any ideas on how to learn how to compile the packages?

I can compile them for now. Alternatively, you can download the sources from the repo and compile them yourself.

i will use the wpad-wolfssl instead of basic in builds moving forward, if you require additional packages please let me know and add them

see OpenWrt 24.10.0-rc2 - Second release candidate

Renamed ipq807x target to qualcommax

How did you get access to the gl builder?

another member requested access on my behalf, I was sent an invitation the following day.

Could be usefull to add: batmand, kmod-batman-adv, luci-proto-batman-adv out of my head, this router is pretty capable for mesh and works very good.

Currently, the 5018 radio is unstable in the latest versions, the 2.4Ghz radio drops all clients and becomes unreachable after 1-3 days. The 6122 remains stable and accessible during this event. However, a reboot is required to bring the 5018 back up as restarting it has no affect. So if you're relying on the 2.4Ghz radio for any reason, its suggested to remain on the stable version for now. It would be helpfull If you could use 1 of the units for testing the latest firmware as they come out and report your findings.

With that said, I'll post new bins this evening. I'll add the packages to the stable version and at least provide the apks for these packages, for use with the latest versions running 24.10

Also playing with mesh, the router is just able to get into 802.11s with the 6122, the 5018 in mesh can't find other nodes or be found.

I do not use a mesh setup and I am not familiar with such. Perhaps @georgem83 can comment on this as I think he uses a similar setup.

I’m running a mesh setup on 5G (qcn6122), haven’t tried running it on 2.4G. The hardware should be capable though..

Doing more tests with my GL-inet X750, when I create the mesh in 2.4g with the B3000, the X750 can see it but it can't connect to the other nodes, the same, it could connect to other nodes but the B3000 didn't join the mesh. Between 2 B3000 they couldn't connect either although they could see each other.

In 5g they connect without problems between them and with other routers.

Perhaps stating the obvious, but they need to be on the same channel

Yeah, have done that mistake many times, I checked that many times.

I made new bins, rather than muddle up my repo i've posted them on filebin here--> https://filebin.net/4nmjar8zbdqpqem5

All the packages you requested are included in the bins. There is 2 bins stable and latest a complete list of installed packages for each bin is included

new 6.6.63 (24.10) bin have been uploaded to repo. I've tested and confirmed bins have wifi and basic functionality.

same deal, use ubi and force to update from 6.6.54

Yeah I found that problem too.

which problem ? bad bin ..soft brick or missing desired packages ?

or the 5018 issues ?

For the previous bin upload. The new one worked well -- however, I did notice that one of the Wireless APs now show up as unknown. See below. Any ideas?

Kernel Log
System Log

did you use the ubi ... unchecked keep settings ?
both radios are booting fine according to the logs, seems like a config issue.

here is what i am seeing on mine using 2 radios ...0 & 1 respectively

in your syslog I see ...

That could be it. I did do a clean install but I then restored from a backup. That may be it. What do you think?
