Iphone usb tethering not working 19.07

I followed this guide on my archer A7 v5:

https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wan/smartphone.usb.tethering

eth1 shows up (I am using an iPhone XR). The phone shows that it is teathered after I get the trust computer message and agree to it. The issue is that I don't pull an IP address from the phone. I can techer to my mac from my phone wired and wirelessly.

Hi kkasberg,

I'm not pretty sure what happened on you side.

As I know, the default network interface should be "eth2" if connect iPhone to your Router.
Please try to configure the interface name as following command.

uci set network.iPhone=interface
uci set network.iPhone.proto=dhcp
uci set network.iPhone.ifname=eth2
uci commit network

One more thing, there is something wrong of iPhone tethering with iOS14...

Good Luck
