Intermittent disconnection issue occurring on the router

I installed OpenWrt on my Xiaomi Mi Router 4A (R4AC) 100M Router, then added SQM and AdBlock Fast. However, as shown in the link I shared, in LoL, the game sometimes behaves like this, where I can briefly see the signals before they completely disappear, and then I reconnect. Additionally, I experience connection drops not only in games but also during general internet usage. These disconnections can last for about 15-20 seconds. The connection indicator doesn't disappear, meaning I technically still have a connection, but it seems incredibly slow.

  1. Would switching the modem to bridge mode solve the problem?
  2. My router's RAM usage fluctuates between 75-80%. Could this be the root cause of the issue?

Likely you run out of memory for wifi alone. CPU is too weak to cut SQM, and also adblock adds some memory usage.
Examine Status/Logs/kernel log for out of memory process kill.

I reset to defaults using the "Reset to Defaults" option, and only I am connected via cable, yet it is using 56% of RAM. Could there be a problem? Is it possible that I am using the wrong firmware?

it is possible you need a new device

Could using the old firmware reduce my RAM usage?

yes, it would.

SQM is useless for slow CPU you have, just uninstall it.
adblock uses memory, remove largest list maybe
You can add zram-swap on v23 (not v24) to get some spare space and stop wifi access point from crashing.

The reason I wanted to use this router is to use SQM. Is it possible to use SQM on this router in any way?

disable the adblocker and wifi, see what performance you get using wired internet with SQM.
