I was hoping to get help for a temporary ( warranty issues ) revert back to eap610-outdoor stock firmware? hopefully not the latest version because i would like to return to openwrt if they don’t replace the unit. what do i need to do?
backup all the mtd's from within openwrt, then try the firmware strippers, but if the flash fails, you'll need serial port access to recover.
but you'd need it for TFTP install anyway.
as for how to do it, google "router serial tftp recovery", they're all (pretty much) the same.
Thank you grab a cup of tea and read, I’m also going to try the tplnk reset recovery method first ( recovery built into tplink eap AX units, “ https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/3186/ “). then the striped firmware version, then open and serial into the unit.
Just be aware, a complicated but documented and tested approach is usually safer than coming up with shortcuts yourself. Yes, opening a router case and attaching a serial console is not always fun (especially the opening part, with all the hidden screws and clasps), but it's a one-time thing.
Hi All, I have chickened out off doing a stock firmware reimage for my warranty recall ( I just sent it back the unit. crossed my fingers and they replaced it .
Thank you again guys for all your hard work on it, hopefully this will help someone in the future.
