Hello, I am having troubles installing OpenWRT on EAP225v3 with a firmware version EAP225(US)_V3_5.2.2 Build 20250709. When I SSH into AP the command "cliclientd stopcs" to disable firmware signature check is not working
it looks like the new firmware changed the interface (nice spelling of the word system)
and downgrading to the 5.0.3 version as mentioned in the guide is no longer possible (After upgrading this firmware, rolling back to any of the previous version is forbidden.)
does anyone have any ideas on how can I install OpenWRT on this firmware or how can I downgrade the firmware? Thanks!
what do you mean by "ask official support how to scan wifi?" ? For some reason none of those debug commands work in EAP CLI. The interface looks completely different than in this video on older firmware https://youtu.be/NKFPMsjRtS4?si=Lbb369cjgR3-aE9-&t=690
While researching it further I found a forum post from TP-Link stating that the newest firmware version removed the traditional Linux shell and brought their own command line interface (CLI). And I assume that they are not planning to add an option to disable Firmware Signature check I think wiki pages with installation guides should be updated stating not to update to newer versions of firmware or that it is not possible to flash OpenWRT on them.
