So I can successfully boot using RouterBOARD's bootloader, over TFTP into the image. It loads into RAM and boots fine - I can use the live image so to speak.
However, when it comes to applying the sysupgrade image it fails midway and the device locks up. I have tried via the UI. I did try via the terminal by downloading the image in tmpfs mounted at /tmp however wget just received a Killed signal mid download and then I got a lock up again.
Any ideas - the device is supported but I am unsure on how to go about getting the sysupgrade done.
I can compile images as well, I am compiling a snapshot build (although I'd like to rather do a 24.x build) and maybe I can use a more minimal image?

Update 1: Netbootting 21.x image and installing that via sysupgrade seemed to work - should I try to slowly sysuprade myself to newer and newer versions?
Update 2: Upgraded from 21x. to 22.03.7 worked. I will now try to move to 23.x.
Update 3: This worked, I upgraded from 22.x to 23.0
I did an install (sucessfully) of 21.x and then upgraded again to 22.03.7. I am going to try upgrade to 23.0 now. If I can get that working on the one device, then I will also try to see what happens if I directly boot into 23.x and try install that.
Update 3: This worked, I upgraded from 22.x to 23.0
So the long path upgrade works (I am now at 23.05, I will go further once done doing my tests I need to - maybe to the 24.x release)
I also tried directly netbooting into the 23.05 image and I was able to flash that successfully, I think I may have maybe had problems as I left my TFTP server running for too long during trying to administer the devices. I now netboot, wait for TFTP to transfer totally, disconnect ethernet, kill TFTP server and then switch over to my DHCP network profile on my desktop as I wait for OpenWRT to boot so that I can get into it at 192.168.1.1.
I think maybe I was slightly impatient maybe, the flash process simply does take long and so does the boot. Lesson learnt - patience is a virtue .
That being said, the title of this post is for getting 24.0 working - I will try that later this weekend or when I get sometime and then close this issue, first I need to make use of my two devices running on 23.05 to do my tests as the package versions needed, yggdrasil, are at the minimum version required on 23.05.
